CoVid 19 Help and Information
Life is changing rapidly for many of us in these times of uncertainty. We have had to cancel all our programmed events for the foreseeable future. Our Craft Groups and our Dining Divas. have been cancelled and sadly the Walking group activities have now been curtailed on government guidance. We will keep you informed as further changes occur. In the Village, we have news that the Institute and the Blue Anchor have now closed until further notice and the activities of the Bowlers, the Boules team and the Darts and Snooker teams have all been suspended. The meeting scheduled for 18th March to discuss plans for the Bretherton Big Bash was cancelled and although we were hoping that BBB may take place in June, it is highly unlikely but perhaps it may happen later in the year.
The Corn Mill and Village Pantry have closed but the Village Pantry are hoping to have an ordering and delivery service set up very soon. Pauls Farm is closing its shop but is operating a email or telephone order service which can then be collected from the car park. Payments will be by contactless methods.
We have set up a help network of members and other people in the village who may be able to assist with shopping, posting letters, getting essentials, etc for people who are self isolating or in quarantine. Every house in the village has received one of our cards to inform them of the service.
We have also created a telephone network of our members so that regular contact can be maintained during these difficult times. members will have received an e mail with the phone number of their contact.
We will keep you posted by our regular e mails, facebook page and this web site as well as through the village notice boards.
Take care and Stay safe.
